terms and conditions of booking a training course with The Piercing District
These terms make up a condition of booking a course with us. You must agree to these terms in order for your course application to be accepted. In the event of a dispute, these terms will be binding.
The cost of the courses as detailed above all includes VAT at the applicable rate.
Your place on the course will not be confirmed until cleared funds and a completed enrolment form have been received; once this has been done we will send a confirmation email and at this point your place on the course will be class as being confirmed; this is not the case until you have been sent this confirmation email.
Body Piercing Courses: £100 Deposit
Payment can be made by Credit/Debit Card, PayPal or Cheque (made Payable to The Piercing District). In the event that you pay by cheque your place on the course will not be confirmed until the cheque has cleared. You are also able to pay by BACS – please contact us if you wish to pay by this method.
Course attendance is the responsibility of the student; getting to and from The Piercing Districts training centre is the sole responsibility of the student and no responsibility will be accepted by The Piercing District for getting you to or from our training centre. If you fail to attend your course without sufficient notice then you Will Not be entitled to any monies paid, and we may at our discretion request payment for any monies not paid prior to your course that were due.
For Piercing Courses, no kit is provided, but we will supply a list of suppliers as well as a full kit list.
Eternal Beauty will make every endeavour to meet any special requests that have been notified in advance on the booking form.
Refreshments will be available throughout the duration of the course, a lunch break will be provided on each day, but The Piercing District will not assume responsibility for the purchase of lunch. As we are based in the town centre there are several options available to you, and you are welcome to bring your lunch back to the training centre.
Balance Payments
The full balance will be due 2 Weeks prior to the start of your course. This can be paid by bank transfer, or by credit/debit card or PayPal using the link provided in your confirmation email.
For Body Piercing Training Courses the balance must be received before access to the pre-course home study will be provided. If payment is not received or we do not feel that you will have sufficient time to complete the home study at least 3 days prior to the start of your course then we reserve the right to move your course to our next available dates.
Pre-Course Home Study
In the event that your course requires our pre-course Home study to be completed, a user name and password will be issued to you in your confirmation email along with the link to the relevant pages.
This home study is a mixture of reading & a quiz at the end.
Piercing Home Study
The pre-course contains mainly reading, but there is a quiz at the end which will need to be completed 3 working days prior to the start of your course.
Cancellation & Postponement
In line with the Consumer Contracts Regulations (formerly the Distance Selling Regulations) you will have period of 14 Days following the payment of your deposit (which forms the start of the contract between us) to cancel your booking and receive a full refund of the deposit amount.
If you have booked a course to commence within 14 days of booking, then you acknowledge that you will be waiving your rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations to a refund of your deposit. In the event that you want to cancel your course in these circumstances then there will No refund due of your deposit
If we have already provided you any course material, pre course home study links, kit, or anything else that constitutes 'training material' then this will constitute the start of your training - No Refund will be due on cancellation.
Following the cancellation period we will be happy to move your course to another date that is suitable but will be unable to provide a refund of the deposit paid.
All notice of your wish to cancel must be received in writing to hello@thepiercingdistrict.co.uk No other forms of cancellation will be accepted.
If you fail to attend the course on which you are booked and have not given prior notice to The Piercing District then no refund will be made and no transfer will be allowed.
While The Piercing District offers training and certification on a CPD accredited course we are unable to offer advice or guidance on the practice of Piercing or Tattooing in your area. It is your responsibility to contact your local environmental health officer or licencing department for local policies and procedures and to ensure that this course is suitable to obtain a licence from your local authority. It is also your responsibility to ensure that you can gain insurance using our course; we cannot advise on the requirements of individual insurers.
The Piercing District reserves the right to cancel courses for circumstances outside of our control. In the event of this students will be notified with as much notice as possible and either offered a) a place on a future course, or b) a full refund of any course fees paid; either of these options will be at the sole discretion of The Piercing District. Likewise The Piercing District reserves the right to relocate a course to a different venue should circumstances beyond our control dictate. Notice will be given to students as soon as is practical.
Postponement & Rescheduling
You may wish to postpone your course for a variety of reasons; we will aim to accommodate this where possible, however notice is required and a fee may be due at the discretion of The Piercing District (in the event that we are unable to fill the space left by the postponement of your course)
More than 2 weeks notice: No Charge
7-14 days notice: £100 charge
Less Than 7 Days notice: £100 charge - in addition balance remaining on course invoice (For Example a deposit of £100 is paid and less than 7 days notice is given to postpone your course - to move to new dates a fee of £100 plus your course balance would be due to secure new dates so for a piercing course £850 would be due before the dates are confirmed)
Failure Policy
If a student fails to achieve the required standard on a training course we will do everything in our power to find another model or models for them to work on to help during the normal duration of their course to help them pass however this is not always possible; in the event it is not possible to get more models on the days that they are being trained we can offer the student additional days to train at a cost of £250 per day to help them pass (subject to dates being available). In some cases a full day may not be required, in which case a half day may be offered at the discretion of The Piercing District.
Photographs
Photographs will be taken during the course which The Piercing District reserves the right to use for advertising and social media purposes. If you do not wish for your photographs to be used in this manner please email us at hello@thepiercingdistrict.co.uk prior to your course training date to advise us.
All information that we hold concerning you will be held and processed by The Piercing District strictly in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679 2018 (ICO Registration Number ZA049777)
Such data will be used by the organisation to administer our relationship with you as a customer. We will not, without your consent, supply your name and addresses to any [other] third parties except where (1) such transfer is a necessary part of the activities that we undertake, or (2) we are required to do so by operation of law.
As an individual, you have a right under the The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679 2018 to obtain information from us, including a description of the data that we hold on you.
